Waiting room

The waiting room is designed to make you feel at home. We try not to keep you waiting - but if you arrive early you can read that day's newspapers or up-to-date magazines in comfortable chairs.

There is a toy box, books and colouring sheets for children (see Children at Ashwater)

Surgery

Comfortable chairs are located in the surgery to provide a consultation area. This allows patients to talk to the dentist face-to-face and not upside down - as is often the case!

Our oral health educator also uses this area when offering advice, and often your dentist will discuss a treatment plan here.

The surgery has all the latest dental equipment. We want to provide you with a safe environment so the design of the surgery has cross-infection control in mind. We take this very seriously and the team is well trained. Disposable equipment is used where possible and all other equipment is sterilised (using a high temperature oven) between patients. British Dental Association guidelines are followed regarding the disposal of materials and toxic waste to keep our environment clean and safe.

All the noisy, hot machines you usually find in a dental surgery are kept in a  separate room to make your visit more pleasant.
