implants

For many of us, an implant for a missing tooth is a new concept but they have actually been replacing missing teeth with implants for many years and the results are very predictable.

Implants are made of titanium metal and are “root” shaped. The first step is to place the implant in the gap using a surgical approach, the titanium bonds to the bone, a process called “osseointegration”. Once the implantologist is happy the implants are “firm” in the jaw bone, they can be used to support crowns / bridges / dentures so the missing teeth (gap) can be restored and a lovely smile created.

We do not offer implants at the practice but are happy to refer you to a specialist practice in the area (the initial consultation fee is £95.00).

At Ashwater, when we discuss treatment options with you, we will always consider implants in the decision making process, but sometimes other forms of treatment may be more appropriate eg. Bridge or Denture

Implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth or several teeth.

As a price guide… £2,500 per implant with associated crown and x-rays.

If you would like a referral to an implantologist, please ask your dentist.
