Homeopathic Treatments

Some patients may prefer to try homeopathic remedies, to help with their dental treatment.

It is important to remember that we do not recommend that homeopathy should replace actual dental treatment. If you have a dental problem, you should always contact your dentist first so that the homeopathic solutions can be used in conjunction with conventional treatment and correct diagnosis.

The following remedies have been recommended to us:

  • For very nervous patients - aconite tablets, chewed or sucked, immediately before an appointment
  • For anticipatory anxiety - gelsenium
  • After a tooth has been extracted
  • For throbbing toothache - belladonna.  At night, chamomile can be taken.
  • For heat-sensitive toothache - pulsatilla
  • For bleeding gums - calendula mouthwash or Weleda Medicinal Gargle used as a mouthwash
  • For bleeding gums with bad breath - carb veg, apis, kreosotum or lachesis
  • For denture sores or mouth ulcers - feverfew
  • For cold sores - rustox

Please note that none of these remedies have been tested at Ashwater. Let us know if you found they helped
